Here’s my favorite non-dairy, high fructose-free coconut whipped topping.
Processed whipped toppings often contain high fructose corn syrup and other additives. On a quest to find a comparable product with healthier ingredients, I stumbled upon So Delicious Coco WHIP in my grocer’s freezer section.
If you avoid dairy and corn syrup or just don’t want to whip from scratch, this alternative topping is true to its name. It’s so delicious.
Coco WHIP is made by So Delicious, a reputable company with high standards. In addition to their non-dairy toppings, this company produces non-dairy creamers, frozen dessert bars, ice creams, beverages, cheese, and flavored yogurt alternatives.
Before moving on I wanted to note that I’ve used many of the products mentioned. I appreciate their dairy and gluten-free options.
The unsweetened coconut milk is good for baking, making mashed potatoes, mixing with hot chocolate, and as a base for macaroni and cheese.
The ice creams are good. I prefer the double chocolate. Although the texture is different than dairy based ice creams, it’s still smooth and satisfying.
The frozen dessert bars are tasty. Although the yogurt alternative has a nice taste and texture, it’s high in the sugar department.
All of the coconut based products have an underlying nicely balanced flavor with no odd lingering aftertaste.
Please note that many of the So Delicious products contain coconut. Other products may contain almond, oat, cashew, and soy. For those with coconut, soy, or nut allergies/sensitivities review the ingredients carefully to avoid reactions.

Here’s the ingredient and caloric comparison for the regular and light versions.
Regular Coco WHIP has 30 calories, 2 grams of fat (10% saturated), and 3 grams of sugar per 2 tablespoon serving. The light has 25 calories, 1 gram of fat (5% saturated), and 3 grams of sugar per 2 tablespoons.
Both contain filtered water, organic tapioca syrup, organic coconut oil, organic cane sugar, pea protein, sunflower, guar and xanthum gums, lecithin, and natural flavor.
Here’s something good to know. Guar and xanthum gums may create a mild laxative effect in some individuals especially when consumed in large quantities.
Where to purchase and cost.
So Delicious products are popular, easily found, and often on sale at many local retail and grocery stores as well as on-line retailers.
Coco WHIP is found in the freezer section with prices ranging from $3.75-$5.50 for a 9 ounce tub.
Coco WHIP Review
Coco WHIP has a smooth and creamy texture with a lovely coconut flavor that complements anything it touches. I have used it on shortcake, berries, cookies and on more than one occasion eaten it directly from a spoon.
I prefer the regular to the light which seems thinner and a bit runny. Regardless, both are great products and thaw quickly within 20 minutes at room temperature. The only con is that the lid on a brand new tub takes some effort to remove.
I hope this information was helpful. Please feel free to share and pass the word to others. If you have natural favorites, I would love to hear your recommendations. Thank you for visiting.
