Inertia Occupational and Physical Therapy Services, Utica NY Review

The benefits of physical and occupational therapy.

In any city there are a plethora of occupational and physical therapy practitioners and practices from corporate based to private. It is well known that OT and PT provide evidenced based, research supported benefits for a wide variety of health related conditions. Whether the consideration is related to an acute injury, repetitive motion, chronic condition, disease process, or a combination of factors, OT/PT can offer customized treatment that addresses the health care consumer’s specific concerns and wellness goals focusing on restoring, maintaining, and improving function. They are supportive and augment existing traditional medical regimens and other complementary/alternative modalities. Occupational and physical therapy performed by a qualified practitioner can be life changing, improving both quality of life and healthy life expectancy.

Choosing a more personal therapy experience.

Many of my contacts and clients reminisce about the “old days” noting the current corporate climate effect on the health care delivery system. Wanting and valuing a more personal experience, they list long waits, practitioners treating several clients at the same time, lack of explanation of treatment specifics, and feelings of being rushed or not listened to as the main reasons for not initiating or completing a therapy regimen. They describe their searches for practices offering that personal touch of old as time consuming, overwhelming, and frustrating. Although it can be a process finding practices that offer a more personal touch, they do exist.

What Inertia offers.

Inertia Occupational and Physical Therapy Services Review

Here’s my review. This is my second time around for a series of OT treatments specifically targeting a recurring repetitive motion injury. Both experiences, past (12 weeks duration) and recent (6 weeks) were exceptional. From the first time crossing the threshold to the last, I was treated as an individual with unique needs and concerns. There was no wait (5 minutes or less), long lines, or disruptions. The focus was on my healing. Any treatments as well as recommended exercises where explained in detail. Recommendations regarding proactive and preventative measures were an important part of the therapy. Questions were encouraged and answered. I was instructed on what to avoid, watch out for, and what to continue. Even on busy practice days, I never felt rushed and was regarded as a person, not a diagnosis or number. My opinions and feelings were listened to, addressed, encouraged, and valued. As I sat there receiving my treatment, I noticed the other clients receiving physical therapy having the same favorable experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. There was conversation and laughter.

In a perfect world, our bodies are always at optimal performance. For those times when the world is less perfect and you need some help getting back on track, I hope you consider Inertia Occupational and Physical Therapy Services. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
