ShiKai Borage Therapy Unscented Dry Skin Lotion and Foot Cream Review

My favorite healthy and hypoallergenic unscented dry skin products.

Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers. Since I like to share my finds with others, here are two of my favorites. If you’re searching for healthier options, this may be a good place to start.

What we put on the skin affects the entire body. Many body care products contain parabens/phthalates, petroleum, propylene glycol, chemical fragrances, and other added ingredients that may harm the skin’s natural barrier.

Dry skin is uncomfortable. We all try to avoid the cracked heels, dry/flakey skin, and fingertip splits that can occur despite the weather or season.

Even the best hand sanitizers with aloe can be very drying.

Borage Therapy by ShiKai is a healthy option.

Borage Therapy Unscented Dry Skin Lotion is my “go to” product. I use this product as is and sometimes add essential oils to boost its performance. The foot cream is also effective. I’ll be discussing both.

ShiKai product information and ingredients.

Both Borage Therapy foot cream and dry skin lotion contain aloe vera gel; safflower, borage, and jojoba seed oils; glycerin; vitamin E; and shea butter among other ingredients.

These two products are GF (gluten-free), cruelty-free, and vegan.

The ShiKai website provides more detailed and other helpful information. It’s important to note that not all ShiKai products are GF, and each product’s GF status will be noted under the “benefits” category.

The Borage Therapy hand lotion including the travel size, dry skin lotion, foot and hand cremes, and children’s lotion are GF. The Borage Therapy Advanced Formula is not listed as GF. The scented hand and body lotions do contain gluten (wheat germ oil). Please take care if that is a concern.

A quick reminder for those GF by necessity. Using products with unknown GF sources (not recommended) on the face and hands may lead to accidental ingestion and potential health related issues.

This applies to skin care products and moisturizers but also food, lipsticks and balms, toothpastes, mouthwashes, cosmetics (foundations etc.), and some alcoholic beverages.

If you aren’t GF, it’s important to be aware that you may accidentally transfer the gluten from your skin (including facial hair, hands, and mouth) to another person through physical contact.

Accidental exposure may be the cause of unexplained issues that arise despite strict adherence to a GF lifestyle. Even exposure to trace amounts can cause problems for some individuals.

Where to purchase ShiKai products and cost.

Borage Therapy as well as other ShiKai products can be purchased in chain grocers, local pharmacies, big box and natural food stores, and on-line.

The prices range from reasonable to excessive depending upon the store. I have seen the lotion and cream priced from $6.99 to an outrageous $15.99. The best price seems online for $8.99 and less if coupon codes are available.

Click here for the list of my favorite on-line reputable retailer sites that offer affordable pricing, coupon codes, sales, and promotions. If you can, shop around. The benefits of the cream and lotion are worth the effort.

Borage Therapy by ShiKai Review

Here’s my review for the hypoallergenic unscented dry skin lotion and fragrance-free foot cream.

I found both to be excellent emollients. The moisturizing effect was immediately noticeable, soothing, and long lasting.

Both unscented products are true to their name with no detectable scent or aroma noted. They are quickly absorbed and leave no oily residue. This is ideal for the foot cream, but it’s still good to wear non-slip socks or footwear after applying. I have also used the foot cream on my hands at night with great results.

Overall when used consistently, I found that both products resolved my dry skin.

I hope this information was useful. Please share and pass the word. Any comments or questions? Send me a message, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time, wishing you continued health and wellness.
