Honey sprays effectively soothe and moisturize the throats of all ages.
Dry mouth and throat happens, and it can be uncomfortable. When the body has difficulty swallowing for whatever reason, anxiety rises.
For those who mouth breathe, the throat and mouth can become so bone dry it becomes difficult, painful, and almost impossible to swallow.
A spoonful of honey is a proven and true effective throat soother and effectively moistens mucus membranes, but honey’s thickness makes it difficult to swallow. Warming the honey makes it easier but takes time and can be messy. It’s also easy to overheat.

What this spray contains and what it doesn’t.
The listed ingredients include: certified organic dark honey in purified water with natural citric and benzoic acid, Zinc (gluconate), and natural flavor. Total sugars are less than 1 gram (less than 2% DV).
This soothing throat spray is dairy, gluten, soy, peanut, and tree nut free! It’s non-GMO, has no artificial colorings or flavor, and is proudly made in the U.S.A.
It does more than moisturize. Honey has noted anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Zinc has anti-microbial properties among others.
Although there is an adult version of this spray for ages 12 and over, I found the children’s version to be effective for adults as well.
Please take note that because it contains honey, this product is not recommended for children less than 12 months old.

HONEYWORKS TM Kids Organic Honey Soothing Throat Spray Plus Zinc is soothing with gentle ingredients.
The pump spray doesn’t require a lot of muscle or dexterity to engage, making it ideal for the elderly and user friendly for all ages.
The taste is sweet but not excessively so. It’s thinner than undiluted honey and immediately coats and moisturizes. After 1–2 sprays, swallowing is comfortable.
Per product label, this spray is recommended for coughs, hoarseness, and may sooth an irritated throat. It’s recommended for ages 12 months and older. 1–2 sprays every 2 hours.
Where to purchase and cost.
This is an affordable product at $6–$8 per 1 fluid ounce spray bottle which delivers 83 servings (a serving being 2 sprays). It’s a hit or miss in the retail stores, but can be purchased on-line at CVS, Amazon, and Vitacost among others.
