How a luminous object or person influences thoughts and well-being.
Are you illuminated with an inner light? A luminous object or person often drives our thoughts in a certain direction. Our mind may envision impressions of warmth, radiance, brightness, and a particular glow, energy, or intensity. Luminosity implies inspiration, enlightenment, and brilliance of mind.
Take a few moments and focus on the color, movement, beauty, and intensity of the fire video. Notice how you feel. Where does its impression lead you?
How a hectic environment affects luminosity.
Our complicated and sometimes hectic world, schedules, and lifestyles can effect inner luminosity. Our energy or brightness may be ignited (excessive), depleted, exhausted, or in extreme cases extinguished.
Think of a campfire’s dynamics.
Over fueling creates an unhealthy situation and a dangerous fire that can become hard to contain, uncomfortably hot, “angry” and destructive. “Excess” heat in the human body may have a similar effect creating anger, irritability, impatience, digestive conditions, and inflammation to name a few.
A fire improperly fueled may have diminished heat and intensity, emanate less warmth, and be less effective.
Not enough fire or warmth in the body may lead to stagnation, sluggishness, congestion, depletion, or exhaustion. The body may be fatigued, cold, stiff, achy, and have digestive issues among others. The mind may have difficulty concentrating.
Ayurvedic principles, philosophy, and practice focus on this concept of “heat” among many others and will be covered in future blogs. For a jump start if interested, click on BANYAN BOTANICAL’s company website for a plethora of Ayurvedic information.
How moderation helps maintain balance.
So what can we do? In an oversimplified nutshell, moderation is a good path. Fuel the body’s fire but be mindful of adding too much or too little heat to maintain a healthy balance.
This applies to exercise, stress management, relationships, food and food choices, appropriate dress, rest, and sleep. In addition, let your luminous self shine through.
We all need and appreciate a kind gesture, compliment, recognition, and helping hand. Taking that moment to listen even if it’s a one time encounter can brighten someone’s day something greatly appreciated in today’s harsher world. Helping others enhances well-being.
