Lovely Candy Gluten-Free Caramels

Lovely GF Caramels contain quality ingredients.

If you like caramels and are gluten-free for whatever reason, a GF caramel is difficult to find.

My search for the perfect caramel ended with this candy gem made by the Illinois based Lovely Candy Company.

These caramels are non-GMO, certified GF, free of artificial corn syrup, kosher, RBST free, contain no artificial ingredients, and are individually wrapped. They are also made in the USA.

Ingredients include brown rice syrup, sweetened condensed whole milk, cane sugar, butter, molasses, sea salt, natural flavor, and vanilla/sunflower lecithin. That’s all good, or should I say lovely?

Lovely Caramels Product Details

A serving size is 3 pieces, has 110 calories, and is 20% of the DV (daily value) for sugar. One piece (1/3 less sugar) seems to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Those with sugar related conditions or issues may want to limit or avoid this candy. If you’re vegan, avoid milk products, or lactose intolerant/sensitive, this product isn’t a good match.

For those with additional special considerations, Lovely caramels are manufactured on equipment that has contact with dairy, nuts (almonds, peanuts, pecans, and walnuts), nutmeg, and soy proteins.

Lovely also makes organic chewy candies (available in sweet or sour versions), organic hard candies, and organic lollipops. For additional company and product information, click here.

Lovely Caramels Product Review

Lovely Candy’s caramels are a sweet, smooth treat that my gluten eating family and friends also love.

This candy has a nice texture, great flavor with no “odd” or lingering aftertaste, and melts nicely in the mouth.

Caramels by nature tend to be on the sticky side. These aren’t as sticky as some, especially when allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth. If chewed, there will be some sticking.

Lovely caramels can be found on-line, at Home Goods (varies), Joann’s Fabrics (varies), and some retail/natural food stores.

Price ranges between $5-$7 per bag and up. They’re popular and often sold out on-line. Purchasing the multi-pack reduces the price.

Your taste buds will thank you. They also make “lovely” gifts.
