Devi Prayer for Relaxation and Well-Being

What is the Devi Prayer?

The Devi Prayer is a hymn to the divine mother in Sanskrit from the album “Sacred Chants of Devi-108 Sacred Names of the Mother Divine” introduced in 2002.

The video version below is by Craig Pruess and Ananda Vdovic. This prayer honors the many named Mother Divine who is present everywhere and in everything.

The song’s words reflect this simplified meaning. Her beauty spans the natural world and universe. She sustains, nurtures, and is the fabric of time through which all things grow. Life is filled by her grace and all are worthy to receive her gifts and blessings. Those who bow to her are sustained by the life within them. Those who honor her are sustained by life’s gifts.¹

The Devi Prayer calms, relaxes and sooths the mind and body.

I can’t say enough good things about this piece.

It not only provides a beautiful background for meditation and relaxation but also eases the process of getting there.

It’s an effective and grounding distraction that can help you replenish and recharge by just listening.

It calms and sooths the mind, balances the mood, and eases anxiety. Even mundane tasks are more enjoyable with this playing in the background.

I hope you find this enjoyable and helpful in soothing both mind and spirit.
